Equal Housing Opportunity

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, creed, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.

The law Lauren works under

The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of housing because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin. The Tennessee Human Rights Act adds creed and also covers housing advertising.

What that means on this site

  • Neighborhood guides describe places (commutes, parks, housing types, tax rates), never the people who live there.
  • You won't find neighborhood demographics, crime ratings, or labels like "safe" or "good schools" here. For schools, each guide names the district and links to the Tennessee Department of Education's official report card so you can judge for yourself.
  • Every listing alert, tool and guide is available to everyone on the same terms.

If you believe you've been treated unfairly
